Ionio Sea is situated in Western Greece and has approximately thirty islands and islets of various sizes, among which thirteen are inhabited. The larger and more developed ones are: Corfu (Kerkyra), Kefalonia, Zakynthos, Lefkas, Ithaca (Ithaki) and Paxi.
