Mondomarine launches 60-metre Sarastar

Mondomarine has unveiled the all aluminium, semi-displacement Sarastar. The yacht launched at the weekend and is due to appear at the Monaco Yacht Show in a fortnight.

The 60-metre Sarastar was designed inside and out by Luca Dini, and is the first 60-metre launched by the yard. Luca Dini’s aim was to create a yacht capable of a sporting performance but one that doesn’t sacrice creature comforts. Her all-aluminium construction means she has a design speed of 19.5 knots.

On-board features include an enclosed foredeck area for tenders, above which the flush deck area can be utilised as a helipad, a dance floor, or a sunbathing area. Aft, a series of skylights in the decks create a wonderful play of the light from the sundeck to the beach club.

Accommodation is in an owner’s cabin forward on the main deck, and five suites on the lower deck. The interior, the yard says, meets the owner’s demand for something “unconventional, innovative, precious and unique”, with special lighting effects by Baldi, onyx and marble finishes, and some silk fabrics woven by Antico Sertificio Fiorentino using Renaissance looms. An eye-catching artwork in glass sculped by Lorenzo Malfatti runs up the guest staircase from the lower to the upper deck.
You can see the yacht on berth E02 at the Monaco Yacht Show, which opens in a fortnight. Next spring, Mondomarine will launch the M40 (designed by Sergio Cutolo at Hydro Tec) and an M54 (designed by Luca Dini).
