Platis Gialos beach is a golden sandy beach. It is the busiest and most cosmopolitan beach of Sifnos and offers all the needed touristy facilities. It is full of tavernas, cafe bars and hotels which are liocated on the beach.
It is well protected by the Meltemi (north-west) wind which is prevailing in the Aegean during the summertime. It is therefore prefered by yachters as an anchorage.
Its crystalline waters are a real pleasure but it always pretty crowded and the buildings right on the beach spoil the natural beauty. Various water sports are available.
