A beautiful beach with some trees placed on the north east coast of Kythnos, in the big and beautiful Loutra bay. It has a nice small marina which is excellent with most prevailin winds and beautiful tavernas, cafes and bars. We rate it with 3 stars mainly for its famous thermal springs, that flow in the sea (so you can use them for free!!) and the picturesque fishing village. One of the best places to moor in the west Cyclades. There are more excellent beaches very near Loutra marina, in Loutra bay: Ag. Sostis, Potamia etc.
This area is the main tourist resort of the island, at 5 km north of Chora village and attracts many visitors, not only because of its available facilities but also because of its thermal springs. These thermal springs are said to have healing properties because they are very rich in minerals. They can reach the temperature of 52ºC, producing steam when getting in touch with the cool water of the Aegean Sea. |
