SARES beaches in SKOPELOS Featured

A magic landscape ideal to visit with a rib! Sares are two wildly beautiful coves liying along the northern coastline of the island, almost outside the harbour of Skopelos Town. The coves are totaly unspoiled and you may see the dolphins near you! Each year the landscape is transformed by strong north winds, crashing waves and rain wash from the hills skirting the beach. The giant, smooth boulders which emerge from the sea are a home to countless species of marine life, shells and crustaceans.

They have fine singles, clear crystal turquoise waters and views to neighbouring islands. They are accessible only by private boat. A paradise for nudists! However Sares - due to their location - are vulnerable to the north winds (Meltemia) that prevail in the summer in the Aegean. Furthermore, the sudden storms (bourinia) that are common in Skopelos (and in the whole Sporades area), are very dangerous if you are in Sares beach. Therefore as soon as you notice dark clouds (even if they are quite far away) you must immediately returm to the port. In any case Sares are recommended only when the weather is very calm or when mild south winds prevail. Open - not good anchorage.
