Diakofti is a secluded beach lying in the so named bay and small settlement. It is rocky but its waters are mirror-like clear. Its distance from Skala (port) is apox 7km and from Chora (Town) apx 4 km, to the south.
Diakofti is found on the narrowest part of the island (only 200 m across), where on the eastern side is the so named beach (in Petra bay) and on the western side is Stavros bay and anchorage (see separate listing).
Alykes (or Alikes) means "salt pans" in Greek and there are a couple of them in the area.
