PEROULADES beach in KERKYRA Featured

Peroulades main beach is hardly that - just a narrow strip of sand below vertical cliffs that floods with waves at each passing boat and you can only get to it with a perilous descent down scores of winding cement steps. The scenery is breathtaking!
The taverna above the beach offers stunning sunset views and lends the place its alternative name of Sunset Beach.
With north winds, it is usually wavy. It is perfectly calm with south winds

Peroulades is a beach with an identity crisis and you'll also see it designated as Loggas, Longas and Sunset Beach depending on the map source consulted. Located close to SIDARI in northern KERKYRA access is through the village of Peroulades itself, beyond Sidari turning where the unofficial signs point to the beach. Peroulades beach is accessed via a steep path and 66 steps!
Non-ambulant visitors will make it only as far as the taverna area. Thereafter, the steep path and steps mitigate against access to Peroulades beach itself. Even those who consider themselves fit will find the steep steps hard going.
Public and taverna car parks. Normally plenty of space, even in high season.
Two or three taverna snackeries with "daytime disco" music. The sunset can be viewed whilst eating an evening meal at this location. Towering cliffs, offshore rock outcrops and a narrow strip of sand. No sunbeds/umbrellas/showers/watersports. Toilets available in the tavernas (none unfortunately are particularly disabled accessible).
The sea is relatively safe but can be "milky". The area, featuring rocks and high cliffs, suggests supervision is desirable.

Natural shady areas: Sit under the cliffs if you don't mind running the risk of falling clay!
