Like in every part of Greece, religious festivals are really important in Aegina and are celebrated with great devotion and care.

Agios Nektarios is the most important religious feast-day on the island for this saint is the patron of Aegina.
A religious ceremony is held in its honour and after, a great festivity take place in the capital with dances, traditional music, food and wine until dawn.
The standard religious festivities of Christmas and Easter are held in the same manner as in the rest of Greece and are worth being seeing and lived.
