MEGALOS MOURTIAS beach in ALONISSOS
Megalos Mourtias is very popular beach with smooth white peeble in the shore and soft sand in the sea bottom which has a gentle slope and gets deeper gradually. The water is crystal clear with a nice blue colour. It is a favourite among the inhabitants of the Old Village (a marvelous traditional village on the hill with breathtaking views), since they can walk down to it using a signed footpath. It is also highly accessible by car and/or motorbike.
You can find shade under the beach umbrellas or under the olive trees that grow a few metres away from the sea… We recommend you to bring a mask and a snorkel, so that you can enjoy the unique underwater beauty.
